American Justice provided me with so much pleasure. I didn’t want to put it down but I parceled it out in small bits so the enjoyment would last. Jared Wright has some changing to do after wallowing in the loss of his wife and child. Emilie is a cop in a bad marriage who needs help from the US Marshals to accomplish her mission. Together they pair with local law enforcement in small town Deep South to bring in a fugitive. Strong women are showcased but Jared’s story is captivating and makes one eager for the next book in this series. I always enjoy Jamie Lee Scott’s books and this first in a new series did not disappoint. Jamie’s strong character development shines here and her knowledge of human frailties makes her characters real. This book’s finale is definitely unexpected. This is a fresh approach that makes you long for more.

Jamie Lee Scott has done it again. American Justice I the first book in a new series. She develops the main characters and exposes their flaws and weaknesses and develop them into powerful strengths. The characters: federal officer, Jared Wright, detective Emelie Saulet and victim Carrie Pemberton, work together to bring their unique abilities and solve the crime. Once started I couldn’t put this book down. I would definitely put this on a must read list and hope their are many more to come.
