    So I finally got a chance to download and read this first series book after watching “Heated Rivalry” a couple of times. This story holds pretty true to what was depicted in HR, but fortunately with room to expand on both characters. Kudos to Ms. Reid for her depiction of love between two men. I don’t know if she has a lot of gay men as friends or what, but the accuracy is off the charts! Several times I needed to reach for a cigarette and warm washcloth! Brava, Ms. Reid!! I’m lining up the remaining books in anticipation of HR Season 2 and Book 7 dropping in June 2027!!

  • Sweet but One Dimensional

    It’s sweet but it’s kinda one dimensional with the “omg I love you but I’m scared to come out” that’s basically what this entire book is plus really great erotica. Kip is so damn insecure and unsure it’s insufferable to just sit there and read what he’s going through. Scott is annoying. The background characters have no personality really.

    Sexy as hell but what kept me reading is Reid’s fluid writing style. She gives you just enough character development to paint a picture. The story is fascinating, fast paced and joyful.

    I normally would look at a romance novel and go “ew, gross” but HOLY JESUS ON A STICK, this is GAS. Like holy hells i have NEVER actually cried from a piece of media, let alone a book. Are the explicit scenes a bit intense? Yes. But by the gods the emotional paper shrewder is SCARY. Buy this book. I do not care if you don’t like romance novels, buy this book. At worst you will be mildly amused, and at best you will be crying.
